The Home Styles Monarch Kitchen Island with Granite Insert Top is a solidly constructed kitchen island. As other reviewers have noted, the shipment comes in three VERY HEAVY boxes. Have help in moving and take care when unpacking, especially box number three.
Upon unpacking box three, I found that the fold out leaf was broken at the hinge location. Customer service was prompt and sent out another top, but the granite insert piece was cracked. Luckily I was able to use undamaged parts from the two shipments. Shipping damages are the only reason I did not rate product as excellent.  
As mentioned earlier, unit is extremely heavy, but that indicates unit is well built and made of quality materials as opposed to pressed fiber board.
Would definitely recommend to others with the caveat to check for damage especially on box three.
For manufacturer, I would advise to check on shipping packaging and try to find a solution to damaged parts during transit.

I am happy with the quality of the island. We did have a problem with the wood on top being damaged. I called manufacture and they sent a new one within the week. The top still isn't perfect, the black granite is slightly raised in the corner but I guess it would never be perfect. Comes in 3 boxes VERY HEAVY! My husband who is good at putting things together had it done in about 2 hours.
