The Palace mills are for lovers of beautiful objects and vintage design. A tribute to the first mill Peugeot created in 1874, the kind once seen at grand banquets, they combine warm aged wood with silver-plated metal. Each 4-inch mill hides a precision Peugeot mechanism: two-stage steel for pepper, stainless steel for salt.
Why it's special
- Vintage design. Aged wood and silver plate, inspired by Peugeot's 1874 original.
- Two-stage pepper mechanism. Case-hardened steel cracks, then grinds peppercorns for full aroma.
- Dedicated salt mechanism. Ribbed stainless steel plates crush dry, coarse salt evenly.
- Adjustable grind. Turn the top knob from fine to coarse.
- Gift ready. Each mill comes in a gift tube.
Care and use
- Buff the silver plate regularly with a chamois cloth or a silver-plate polish.
- Pepper mill: use dry, whole peppercorns up to 5 mm (black, white or green). Pink peppercorns can make up to 15% of a blend. Don't grind salt, herbs, seeds or pickled peppercorns.
- Salt mill: use dry, coarse salt up to 4 mm, such as Himalayan pink, rock or unrefined sea salt. Not for wet salt.
